In April 2017, the United States initiated an anti-subsidy investigation on imports of silicon metal from Australia, Brazil and Kazakhstan. The investigation is still in progress. In August 2017, a provisional duty was imposed. The investigation is still in progress. In April 2018, the provisional duty was terminated.
