In February 2014, the United States initiated an anti-subsidy investigation on imports of carbon and certain alloy steel from China. The investigation is still in progress. In July 2014, a provisional duty was imposed. The investigation is still in progress. In January 2015, a definitive duty was imposed. In December 2019, a sunset review was initiated and the definitive duty was extended for a new period in June 2020.
