In October 2020, the Brazilian authorities initiated a review on lifting the current suspension of duties imposed on imports of padlocks from China. In January 2021, the definitive duty was reintroduced. In November 2024, a sunset review was initiated and the definitive duty was extended for a new period in October 2025.
