On 24 March 2020, Industrial Development Corporation of South Africa (IDC), together with the Department of Trade, Industry, and Competition announced the COVID-19 Essential Supplies Intervention package to provide funding to businesses for the acquisition and/or the production of essential supplies that will be used against the Coronavirus pandemic.
