On December 19, 2019, Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC) decided to commit to a joint geological study with the Uzbek Government to look into gold and tungsten resources in Navoi State, Uzbekistan for eventual exclusive mining rights for Japanese Companies.
