In July 2019, the European Commission initiated an antidumping investigation on imports of certain polyvinyl alcohols from China. In September 2020, a definitive duty was imposed. On 11 August 2022, the European Commission decided not to suspend the definitive anti-dumping duties on imports of the subject good from China. In September 2025, a sunset review was initiated.
