In April 2019, the European Investment Bank (EIB) signed a loan agreement with Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa SA (JSW SA) to support its modernisation of a number of coking coal plants as well as the construction of a coke gas-fired Combined Heat and Power plant. The loan is guaranteed by the European Fund for Strategic Investment (EFSI).
