In September 2018, the Malagasy authorities initiated a safeguard investigation on imports of pasta in the form of spaghetti and macaroni. In January 2019, a provisional safeguard duty was imposed. In July 2019, the investigation was terminated without the imposition of definitive safeguard duties.
