In March 2018, the Malagasy authorities initiated a safeguard investigation on imports of powder detergent (washing powder). In January 2019, a provisional safeguard duty was imposed. The investigation is still in progress. In June 2019, a definitive duty was imposed. In February 2023, a sunset review was initiated.
