In August 2018, the Indian authorities initiated an anti-subsidy investigation on imports of welded stainless steel pipes and tubes from China and Viet Nam. In September 2019, a definitive countervailing duty was imposed. In September 2023, a sunset review was initiated and the definitive duty was extended for a new period in September 2024.
