In August 2018, the Indian authorities initiated an anti-subsidy investigation on imports of saccharin from China. In August 2019, a definitive countervailing duty was imposed. In March 2022, an anti-circumvention investigation on imports from Thailand was initiated. In May 2024, the definitive countervailing duty was extended until at least February 2025. In February 2025, a definitive duty was imposed.
