Saudi Arabia: The government for the first time introduces a special levy on expats and their dependents

According to consistent press reports, the government of Saudi Arabia effective from 1 July 2017, approved the issuance of a special levy for each individual categorized as a 'dependant' of an expat working within the jurisdiction. Furthermore, the government also approved the issuance of a special levy to be paid by employers providing job opportunities for expats i.e. foreigners in Saudi Arabia.
