In June 2009, the government of Australia initiated an antidumping and anti-subsidy investigation. In April 2010, provisional duties were imposed and in October 2010 definitive duties were imposed. In April 2015, a sunset review was initiated and the definitive duty was extended in October 2015. In October 2017, an anti-circumvention investigation was initiated and the definitive duty was extended to a number of exporters from thirds countries in October 2018. In February 2020, a sunset review was initiated and definitive duty was extended in October 2020. In September 2023, a sunset review was initiated (the investigation targets Guangdong Xingfa Aluminium Co., Ltd.). In November 2024, a sunset review was initiated and the definitive duty was extended for a new period in October 2025.
