France: Reduced domestic tax rates on final electricity consumption

On 11 August 2016, the European Commission decided not to raise objections against a scheme to reduce the domestic tax rate on final electricity consumption notified by the French government in November 2015. The measure constitutes a selective rebate. The annual amount of tax reduction caused by the measure amounts to approximately 1.4 billion EUR for the years 2016-2025.
