In January 2011, the European Commission initiated a sunset review of the antidumping duty imposed on imports of tartaric acid from China. Duties were extended in April 2012 and a new sunset review was initiated in April 2017 and the definitive duty was extended in June 2018. The original investigation was initiated on 30 October 2004. In June 2023, the definitive duty was terminated.
