On 10 March 2017, the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) signed a buyer's credit loan agreement with PT PLN (Persero) (PLN) to finance the purchase of a submarine optical fibre cable and related communication machinery and equipment from Japanese manufacturers and exporters.
