Unequal import taxes (tariffs) between the United States and leading export destinations

Less than 5% of U.S. goods face import taxes in the EU, Japan & UK where the foreign tariff is more than 10% larger than the comparable U.S. tariff.

India, Brazil, and Malaysia stand out as large U.S. export destinations where local tariffs often exceed U.S. import tariffs by a large margin.

In more than 5% of products, U.S. import tariff rates are 5-10% higher than in Japan, Malaysia and the U.K.
