In July 2025, Brazil's National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES in Portuguese) announced the launch of a BRL 10 billion (approx. USD 1.7 billion) initiative aimed at supporting micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the Northeast.
