In August 2022, the Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI) approved an FDI proposal for the investment of THB 17.9 billion (USD 504.76 million) by BYD Company Ltd. (BYD) to produce battery electric vehicles (BEV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV).
