Czech Republic: EC approves extension of wage subsidy schemes to support Czech companies affected by the pandemic (COVID-19)

In January 2021, the European Commission approved relevant amendments to Czech wage subsidy programs aimed to support enterprises affected by the COVID-19 outbreak and preserve employment. These include the introduction of a new state aid measure endowed with CZK 4.2 billion (approx. USD 195 million) and the extension of an existing aid scheme (see related state act).
