On 1 March 2014, Malaysia announced the revision of the Guideline on the Acquisition of Properties, as issued by the Economic Planning Unit of Prime Minister's Department. In particular, there is increased enforcement on Malay and aborigine individuals' ("Bumiputera") property acquisitions by foreigners.
