India: Immediate notification of proposed suspension of WTO concessions and imposition of duties on imports of goods from the United States

In May 2018, India notified the World Trade Organization's Council for Trade in Goods of the decision to suspend concessions and other obligations referred to in paragraph 2 of Article 8 of the agreement on Safeguards following tariff increases by the United States on certain goods. The notification included a list of goods subject from the United States subject to an import tariff increase. In June 2018, the list was revised.

In June 2018, India announced an increase in import tariffs of several goods from the United States in reaction to the US steel and aluminium safeguard duties. The implementation of the imposed duties was extended until June 2019.
