In April 2024, the United States initiated an antidumping investigation on imports of ferrosilicon from Brazil, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, and Russia. In June 2024, a provisional duty was imposed on imports from Russia. In November 2024, a definitive duty was imposed on imports from Russia, and a provisional duty was imposed on imports from Brazil, Kazakhstan, and Malaysia. In May 2025, a definitive duty was imposed on imports from Brazil, Kazakhstan, and Malaysia.
