In October 2017, the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China initiated an antidumping investigation on imports of hydriodic acid from the United States and Japan. In June 2018, a provisional duty was imposed and a definitive duty was imposed in October 2018. In October 2023, a sunset review was initiated and the definitive duty was extended for a new period in October 2024.
