Indonesia: Import duty exemption for sports goods

Announcement

04 Jan 2017

On 4 January 2017, the Indonesian Ministry of Finance issued regulation 256/PMK.04/2016 on import duty exemption for sports goods, amending the previous regulation 104/PMK.04/2007 on this topic. This measure contains only a liberalising import tariff intervention. It is not classified as a harmful tax relief to subsidise local production as the import duty exemption is directed at national sports institutions and thereby not at commercial entities.
